Martha Joy Rose, BFA, MA, Director and Founder Museum of Motherhood. Ms. Rose has been teaching Introduction to Motherhood Studies since 2011. She has been developing materials for coursework over the last 15 years and has organized the Annual Academic MOM Conference since 2005. She is a contributor to The 21st Century Motherhood Movement (Demeter 2011), The Encyclopedia of Motherhood (Sage 2011), The Sociology of Family (Sage 2014), New Maternalisms (Demeter 2015) and the Music of Motherhood (2018). Active as a Board member of The Journal of the Motherhood Initiative (JMI) (2015), founder of JourMS (2015). Ms Rose earned her Master’s in Mother Studies from CUNY, The Graduate Center (2015). She is the mother of four amazing human beings and makes her home between New York, Maine, and Florida. She currently teaches Sociology of Family at Manhattan College (2018 -19).
